The Tbiliseli

A print newspaper in Kartuli and English

This is simple: we publish stories of substance.

In our pages, you’ll find photo essays, reportage, and longform articles with something to say. Plus comics (it’s a newspaper, after all).

We cover: culture, society, philosophy, art, film, and design, history, food and wine, and non-serious stuff too. We're open to anything, as long as it's a good story. Bonus points for humor.

We don't cover: Politics. Full stop. There’s a lot more to Georgia than what’s covered in international news.

These other stories, well told, deserve a print medium well-made.

That’s what we do.

Why?

We are sick of the digital slop. AI glop. Endless scrolling. Echo doom chambers. Vapid word soup. Inflammatory poop. And the general degradation towards "good enough"-ism when it comes to words on a page — which to us, as readers, is a slap in the face.

Plainly, a lot of this stems from digital media. Plainly, digital media sucks.

That's why we're print-only. We'll never post articles online. And you won't find us on social media.

We want better.
